These regions have tremendous mission sending potential to help bring the gospel to unreached peoples, but they currently send only 20% of the world’s cross-cultural missionaries!

Team Profile

Look at your list of people you will ask to partner with you. What if support raising wasn&rsquo;t about going down the list of people you know, but instead finding the people God had called? What if God called people who weren&rsquo;t on your list? How do you find them?
When my friend, Michael, was first raising support, his dad connected him to a business friend, Charlie. Michael set up the appointment, prepared, showed up at Charlie&rsquo;s office, and everything went great. Only, Charlie didn&rsquo;t partner with him, but he did connect Michael to one of his associates, Steve. Michael met with Steve, who said no to financial support but connected Michael to another person, who said no but again provided a referral. They also said no but connected Michael to Bill&hellip;who also said no. But Bill connected Michael with Doug.&nbsp;
Michael is meeting with Doug and it is going great until Doug asks, &ldquo;So how do you know Bill?&rdquo; The entire story ends up coming out that Michael doesn&rsquo;t know Bill, or the person before, or the person before that. The level of trust extended by Michael&rsquo;s dad had been stretched so thin it was practically vapor. Michael&rsquo;s heart sank, and he knew what was next. Who would partner with some kid that you had no connection to whatsoever?
Doug paused. Then he said, &ldquo;Wow. God must have really wanted us to meet.&rdquo;
Doug joined Michael&rsquo;s team and continues to partner with him today.&nbsp;
I am always amazed at Michael&rsquo;s tenacity to keep asking for referrals after 6 no&rsquo;s in a row. If he hadn&rsquo;t persevered, he would have never met Doug.&nbsp;
Did you know that by 5 years in ministry, most missionaries&rsquo; partners are made up of at least 50% referrals?
Referrals aren't about having enough contacts.
Referrals aren&rsquo;t a resource to tap into after you work through your list.&nbsp;
Asking for referrals is about finding the people God has called. That starts NOW. Don&rsquo;t wait. Every appointment you don&rsquo;t ask for referrals is a chance you miss to discover what God might have in store for you and for the people he has called to partner with you.&nbsp;
Remember, it&rsquo;s not about you. It&rsquo;s not about who you want to ask. This is about something so much bigger. God is at work, and he has called you to be a part of it. He is calling others to be a part of it too&ndash;through you.
Don&rsquo;t let fear hold you back from sharing the work that God is doing.
