Divinely Set Up to Send and Mobilize
As a land that has been populated since at least 3000 BCE, Chile has existed under many forms of leadership and colonization. Colonized by the Spanish in the 16th century, Chile did not gain its independence until 1818. Rich in raw materials such as copper and many different types of agriculture, Chile's economy thrived in its independence.
A predominantly Catholic nation, only in the last 100 years has Chile seen a rise in the number of Protestants. Today, the country has a population of 19,212,362 and is one of the most religiously free nations on the Mobilization Index.
The Lord has divinely set up the Chilean evangelical church to have significant cultural similarities with the unreached Muslim world, a free nation to promote missions, and a generous church that has the means to support missions to the unreached. Though the nation has very little geographic access to the unreached, they are well positioned to cross that barrier and send cross-culturally to the unreached.
Chile scores high in most of the Mobilization Index Sub-Indices. The evangelical church in Chile is free, culturally connected to the unreached, and growing at a rate higher than the annual average. We rank Chile's mobilization potential as high.
